This friend of mine (50+) needs a well-made introduction on “how to use my (almost) 1st computer, a MacBook“. I am not sure, I can convince this friend to upgrade to Lion for about EUR 25.

Mac OS X Lion: from now on the printer they suggest to you is “Last Printer Used”
“Last Printer Used” – that’s quite a convenient suggestion and choice IMO.
If you don’t like that, you can of course choose your favourite standard printer.Actually they could have offered that ages ago. It feels like that was a standard long time ago, and it just got re-invented. Somehow a PITA.

Be cautious with fake /etc/hosts entry, even if they make sense temporarily!

Well, my GTalk problem was entirely my own problem, and it was entirely caused by myself. Rather embarrassing. -

They removed the Spaces Grid for Lion, that’s crappy. It must come back very soon.
For the time being “absolute positioning to a space” with the right keyboard shortcut and “threefinger swiping” up and down will help a little.
