Sorry for that.)<\/p>\n<p>I still love and use RCS. Ever since I did an early port of RCS to SysV and I met <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/waltertichy\">WFT<\/a>. That work got paid by Fraunhofer Gesellschaft at Karlsruhe then, and Johannes R\u00f6hrich told me to do that. I am glad he did.<br \/>\nOf course I see serious uses for Mercurial, Git, and Subversion, but for my personal use I still think RCS is just lightweight enough.<\/p>\n<p>pros:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>rather, rather lightweight<\/li>\n<li>integrated into Emacs<\/li>\n<li>I got quite some experience with it<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ncons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>diffs are not compressed<\/li>\n<li>no concept like <i>team<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\nWhy did I start this article today?<\/div>\n<div>\nI decided to set my .procmailrc into <i>non-strict locking mode<\/i>, so that I save one command during <i>change+deploy<\/i>.<\/div>\n<div>\nI searched the web for the RCS documentation, so that I could refer to it, and I got carried away \u2026<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nWhy did\u00a0Aaron S.
