{"id":7163,"date":"2017-01-19T14:12:22","date_gmt":"2017-01-19T13:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.b.shuttle.de\/hayek\/hayek\/jochen\/wp\/blog-en\/?p=7163"},"modified":"2017-01-19T14:12:22","modified_gmt":"2017-01-19T13:12:22","slug":"computer-displays-colour-schemes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.jochen.hayek.name\/blog-en\/2017\/01\/19\/computer-displays-colour-schemes\/","title":{"rendered":"computer (etc) displays and colour schemes \u2013 &#8220;black on white&#8221; or &#8220;white on black&#8221;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tI have &#8220;no idea&#8221;, what is better for my health:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a dark (or black) background<\/li>\n<li>a light (or white) background<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I think, the human eye enjoys white as a &#8220;general background&#8221;, \u2026 \u2013 so I somehow think, white as background is &#8220;more enjoyable&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I just noticed, that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>my favourite editor has white as background<\/li>\n<li>and the CLI console has black as background,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>and suddenly I found it tiring for my eyes to constantly change between a black and a white background.<\/p>\n<p>My (current) CLI console on Windows is &#8220;<em>ConEmu<\/em>&#8220;, and apparently there are just these two colour schemes with white as background:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;<em>Tomorrow<\/em>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;<em>Solarized Light<\/em>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I switched to &#8220;<em>Solarized Light<\/em>&#8221; for now, because I enjoy its stronger contrast better than the one of &#8220;<em>Tomorrow<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>BTW (just in case you\/I want to switch back): Its default (resp. previous setting) is &#8220;<em>ConEmu<\/em>&#8220;.\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have &#8220;no idea&#8221;, what is better for my health: a dark (or black) background a light (or white) background I think, the human eye enjoys white as a &#8220;general background&#8221;, \u2026 \u2013 so I somehow think, white as background is &#8220;more enjoyable&#8221;.
