how to update Windows XP after end of support

Windows XP is rather similar to “Windows Embedded POSReady 2009” – the latter is actually also named “Windows XP embedded …“.

Right now I am updating my WinXP VM (VirtualBox) on my Mac. It works for me.

As the information sources say:

• Microsoft may detect, we are updating our XP-s like that,
• and decide, they don’t want us to do it,
