Pickup artists (PUA), self-identified as dating coach, seduction community, or pickup community, is a movement of men whose goal is seduction and sexual success with women. The community exists through Internet newsletters and blogs, marketing (e.g. banner ads, seminars, one-on-one coaching), forums and groups, as well as over a hundred local clubs, known as “lairs”.

I was on my way in public transport a couple of weeks ago, with a (male) friend (that I am not attracted to erotically) (“Jens”) on my way back from our duty Wednesday evening talking round. After Jens saw me interacting verbally with another passenger, that we both had not known before, he brought up the term PUA (actually he identified me as PUA with rather some admiration). I had never come across that term in my life, and I almost forgot it. Only today I looked the thing up, and here we are.
Should I make “people” (likely to be in danger) aware of the fact? I actually don’t think I am on a very high level of proficiency yet. But then that may result from a bad self-assessment.
