Jenkins CI: how easy is the migration to Jenkins-2? 1st attempt – looks like completed successfully
- https://jenkins.io
- created a copy of my start-up script rcjenkins by the name of rcjenkins2
- downloaded http://mirrors.jenkins-ci.org/war/2.0/jenkins.war to $HOME/JENKINS_WARS/jenkins-2-000.war
- I don’t see a need to change anything regarding JENKINS_WARS and the way I select the .war I want to start within rcjenkins resp. rcjenkins2
- installed all available, updatable plugins within “Manage Plugins”; in order to be sure, they all work in the “old set-up”, that needs one round-trip of restarting Jenkins
- …/rcjenkins stop
- my env. var. JENKINS_HOME has been pointing to a directory JENKINS_HOME_005 so far
- I created a fresh copy of JENKINS_HOME_005 by the name of JENKINS_HOME_200
- for the time being JENKINS_HOME will now point to JENKINS_HOME_200
- …/rcjenkins2 start
- https://…/jenkins/descriptor/jenkins.install.UpgradeWizard/upgrade
- … “Installing Plugins/Upgrades” …
- I did not “check” the “automatic restart”
- instead I initiated the restart myself after all the plugins/upgrades had gotten installed
- after the restart I started my favourite job, and everything looks fine with my Jenkins-2.0 installation

Anoushka Shankar: “Traces Of You” – featuring Norah Jones
The first music I heard today on the radio. But the radio announced it as “Anoushka Shankar …”, not Norah Jones, so I thought: Well, these half-sisters have rather similar voices. But in fact it was Norah Jones singing, just on Anoushka’s album.
I had never heard of Anoushka before, and when searching for her on YouTube, I found rather nice and interesting music, e.g.:

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, G&L Musical Instruments, …
After selling the Fender company, Leo Fender founded Music Man in 1975, and later founded the G&L Musical Instruments company, which manufactures electric guitars and basses based on his later designs.
G&L is a guitar design and production company founded by Leo Fender, George Fullerton, and Dale Hyatt in the late 1970s.[1] Fender sold his eponymous company Fender in 1965. He designed and produced instruments for Music Man in the 1970s through his company CLF Research. When relations with Music Man soured, G&L was created to continue operations outside of Music Man. The G&L name comes from the initials of George Fullerton and Leo Fender.
