Within the Windows environments of one of my customers, the team members are granted the right to acquire and keep the Administrator rights regarding a directory on the local disk for personal use (for keeping data, installing software, …). Here I attempt to describe, how to achieve this:
- create a directory, e.g. c:user
- within the menu of c:user select “Properties“
- select the “Security” tab
- within “User Properties” WRT “Group or user names:” “Edit…”
- within “Permissions for User” WRT “Group or user names:” “Add…” my Windows user account
- having selected that user account check the cell in the row “Full control” and the column “Allow“
- and click “OK“
