iTunes: Column Browser: Use Album Artists (checkbox)
That’s a funny but weird feature, and I keep forgetting it, so sometimes I don’t find music files, that I just loaded into iTunes. Even if you set Artist to Album Artist, sometimes the music file does not get shown, if you don’t have Use Album Artist checked.

how to browse music?
Today resp. just now I found “yet another time …“, that browsing my music library in iTunes / on the iPod / on the iPhone “by genre” is much more fun, then browsing by name on my file system – what a surprise!
Yet I still insist, that my music library has to be kept “by name” on the file system. Quite a contradiction, isn’t it?!? But browsing a huge amount of music, with lots of covers included, that definitely is fun. Have a nice weekend, all of you out there … -
pipe symbol at Apple keyboard
there is that nice article on where to find the “pipe symbol” / “pipe symbol” on an Apple keyboard. of course nowadays with Snow Leopard or “just” Leopard that’s all different. but it still (with a little fancy and curiousity) helped me finding out, how to get to that thing.
in short: System Preferences / Language + Text / Input Sources / Show Input menu in menu bar / Show Keyboard Viewer.
there you play a little with combinations of the shift key, the function key, and just try yourself!alright, I actually completed this article — at the cost of letting my SO wait for my call to the gym. sorry for that!
