my new Apple MacBook Air 13,3″ – 1,7 GHz Intel Core i7 – 8 GB RAM – 512 GB SSD – BTO

It was a rather spontaneous decision to replace my ancient Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the high-class MacBook Air. And Cyberport nearby seemed to have it in store; I called in at their central hotline to make sure, they really had it; I ordered it online in order to reserve it; and I got it a couple of minutes later.

I downloaded Chromium using Safari. Of course I am making use of that syncing feature

After the 7:1 soccer game (the devastating Germany vs Brazil during the 2014 soccer world cup) I proceeded with setting the thing up.

I downloaded Mozilla Firefox; and also here I am making use of that syncing feature, and I “joined” the beta app.update.channel – there is also brief article on that here on the blog.

I wondered a little, how to set up the 16 Desktops, that I am used to on my Macs. I had to get into “Mission Control” and press the “+” in the upper right corner – once for every extra Desktop. (DuckDuckGo was my friend.)

I got me an Emacs.

At one stage around 04:00 I switched off the light in order to catch some sleep.

Next morning …

Finkifying the thing following my own articles in the fink category.
