In today’s stand-up meeting we came across an interesting topic: a UNIX questionnaire for team candidates.
I think I did not make myself too popular, when I suggested something like an obligatory LPIC for employees. The background: most of the guys present in the meeting are a little away from the appropriate competence in the UNIX area, and nobody has LPIC or anything comparable. Myself? My UNIX age is like triple the age of the invention of LPIC, and I have always been to proud to go for it, but I should really serve as a sample for a UNIX dinosaur passing such an exam.
I would have loved to push son#1 to do that and then follow him, but I have not yet succeeded getting him going for anything like that. Somebody else, that I can support and “use” for that??? I am thinking of somebody “out there” 🙂
